The new Denbarker volunteer fire brigade shed was officially opened on Saturday the 24th of February amid much political fanfare. The shed was opened by the Minister for Emergency Services, the Honourable Francis Logan MLA.
PF Olsen was first approached by members of the volunteer bushfire brigade in Denbarker, Western Australia, then officially approached by the Plantagenet Shire, seeking land to locate a shed and hoping, as an act of goodwill, the landowner would donate the land free of charge.
PF Olsen looked at a suitable property under our management that was central to the district of Denbaker. A site outside of productive plantation land, and within a small patch of heavily degraded remnant bush, was identified as an ideal location for a shed. We then approached the landowner, The Trust Company Australia, with our proposal. The proposal fit many facets of the landowner's fund management charter, while costing the fund very little in the way of unproductive land that could never be developed by the manager. The managers of the fund, New Forests, immediately approved the proposal and facilitated the project at all steps through the change of owner process.
PF Olsen Australia is proud and privileged to be part of this very important community project. The location of the shed will improve fire response time due to its central location to a large grouping of fund properties.
