Safety Alert

Generally, the operator is protected through the design and manufacture of the cab, which includes windows and doors as well as roll over protection (ROPS) and fall over protection (FOPS).
 
It can be temping to keep either the windows or doors open when it is hot and stuffy. Be warned, DON’T!
 
A local Western Australian farmer was clearing a fence line in his loader last week, with the doors open. A branch flicked up and entered the cab, piercing his leg in a matter of seconds.

For perspective, it is his right lower leg with the shin bone just to the left of the entry point. It had penetrated 7 cm into the muscle and it was nine hours before he could get to Perth to have it removed.
