ForestSmart Group Certification

ForestSmart is PF Olsen Australia’s Group Certification Scheme for sustainable forest management. ForestSmart offers cost effective forest management certification to small and medium-sized tree farmers.

The scheme has been designed to comply with the requirements of both internationally recognised certification schemes for sustainable forest management.  The schemes are:

• the Responsible Wood Certification Scheme, which requires verification of compliance with AS4807:2013 The Australian Standard for Sustainable Forest Management.
• Forest Stewardship Council® Certification, which requires verification that forests are well-managed in accordance with Forest Stewardship Council®’s Principles & Criteria (FSC-STD-01-001 (V5-0)).

 ForestSmart is the only Group Certification Scheme in Australia available nationally.  It is based around the tried and tested forest management systems of the PF Olsen Group.

Membership entails entering into an agreement with PF Olsen Australia and external audits to ensure your forests meet the certification requirements.  The scheme is set up to allow you to decide how much work you do yourself and how much you pay for.
