Just like growing demand for food, there are good reasons to expect demand for timber to grow.
Australia faces the prospect of being unable to meet demand for new housing, because of a persistent and growing gap between demand and supply timber.[1]
GRANTS TO HELP FARMERS
The Australian Government’s Support Plantation Establishment Program offers grants to help meet the costs of planting trees for future harvest in Australia. The grant is based on a subsidy per hectare (up to $2,000 per ha) with a minimum of 20 hectares.
